Lita Rossana Ford She was born in the United Kingdom and was an American guitarist, vocalist, and music writer. In the late 70s she was the lead guitarist for the hard-rocking all-girl band The Runaways. The group was not able to make a significant impact within their home country of the United States but earned huge recognition abroad, particularly in Japan. Ford embarked on a heavy-metal solo career after the band was disbanded in 1979. Following vocal training, she launched her debut solo album, 'Out For Blood'. This was followed by the release of her second album, 'Dancin"On The Edge'. Ford disappeared from rock for some time after the albums did not be a huge success. In 1988, she returned to the scene by releasing a dazzling album titled "Lita. Kiss Me Deadly was a huge hit as was the ballads Close My Eyes Forever and Kiss Me Deadly. However, her popularity was not long-lasting and she disappeared from the music industry for a few years. In 1995, she released 'Black' and 15 years later , she released 'Wicked. Her most recent album "Time Capsule" was released in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine awarded her the Certified Guitar Legend Award.
